There’s a wide range of places to sit, eat and relax in one of Buda’s coolest locations, the Kopaszi-gát, where you can even swim in the Danube in summer.

The Kopaszi-gát and its surroundings have undergone a huge development in recent years. BudaPart is a new neighbourhood, a true leisure, gastronomic and business centre, which is now one of the favourite places for relaxation, leisure and events for all the locals and travellers.

There are plenty of good restaurants and places to sit in and sit out, with high quality gastronomy. You can eat fish dishes, try Asian cuisine or the original Neapolitan pizzas, but there are also specialty cafés and classic pastry shops where you can also taste traditional Hungarian sweets. All in all, you won’t leave hungry here, everyone will find the right cuisine for them at Kopaszi-gát.

And in the summer months, you can even go swimming, as there is one of the best outdoor beaches in town, with a beach bar open all year round. The water quality is constantly monitored, so there’s no need to worry about bathing in the Danube, as there are only two places in the capital where you can swim in the river and sit on the waterfront in a natural setting, one of which is in BudaPark. Here you can also try SUPing, as there is a rental shop on the dam.

Looking down from the city’s tallest building is a special experience, which you can also try at the Kopaszi-gát. This is the site of the MOL Campus, the most famous and striking landmark of BudaPart, the only skyscraper in Budapest. The Skydeck observation deck at the top of the 143-metre-high building is ticketed by appointment, but the views are stunning. The Virtu rooftop restaurant & cocktail bar on the 28th floor of the building offers signature drinks, bistro-style food and fine dining service.

Access to the Kopaszi-gát is also very easy: from the city centre it takes just 23 minutes by bus 107, but it is probably best to arrive by bike, as there are cycle paths and two MOL Bubi stations in the neighbourhood.
